What does startup and business advisory include?
Strategy and planning with hands-on execution: business plans, financial models, market and competitor research, pitch decks, and the operating decisions founders face in the earliest stages.
What goes into a business plan and financial model?
Market and competitor analysis, the operating model, a revenue build, cost structure and cash flow, and the assumptions behind each number. The model has to hold up to questions from a lender, investor or programme reviewer.
Do you provide immigration services?
No. We are business advisors, not immigration consultants. We prepare business plans and financial documents; immigration advice should come from a licensed professional.
What is market validation?
Evidence that people will pay for what you intend to sell, gathered before significant money is committed. It is the difference between a plan built on research and one built on assumption.
Do you work with early ideas or established businesses?
Both. We help validate early ideas and support established businesses launching new ventures or entering new markets.
Do you help raise funding?
We prepare what a raise requires: the plan, the model and the deck. We are not a placement agent and do not introduce investors in exchange for a fee.
What should a pitch deck contain?
The problem, the solution, market size, business model, traction, competition, team and the ask. Each claim should be traceable back to the financial model rather than sitting on its own.
How long does a business plan take?
Typically a few weeks, depending on how much research is required and how quickly you can supply numbers and answers. The bottleneck is usually information, not writing.
Do you help with company setup in Canada?
We advise on structure and what the business needs to operate. Incorporation and legal filings should be handled by an accountant or lawyer, and we work alongside yours.
Is this a one-time project or ongoing?
Either. Some engagements are a single plan or model. Others continue as an advisory relationship through launch and early operation.
What if the idea is not viable?
We will tell you. Finding that out during planning costs weeks. Finding it out after launch costs far more, and an honest answer early is the most valuable thing advisory provides.
What do you need from us to start?
What you are planning, what you have already done, and any numbers you hold. The first conversation is mostly questions, because the plan is only as good as the information behind it.
